Founded in 1914, the Washington Animal Rescue League is the oldest animal welfare shelter in Washington D.C. For more than a century, WARL has been saving homeless, abused and neglected pets in the D.C. area and beyond. But we are only able to do so because of your support.
The Washington Animal Rescue league is a private, non-profit organization and receives no government funding. For that reason, our ability to rescue pets from desperate situations, to care for them medically and behaviorally, and adopt them into welcoming homes is made possible because of generous friends and supporters like you.
