1914 Society Spotlight: Leaving a Legacy

Ms. Kathleen Ewing, long-time WARL board member and supporter, was instrumental in establishing WARL's 1914 Society ¡V which recognizes and honors those who make a bequest or other planned gift to WARL – and she has been creative in her own gift planning by designating WARL as the recipient of her impressive collection of dog photographs.

"Many years ago I contacted (then) WARL President Betsy Kiernan with the idea of hosting a special event in my art gallery, benefiting the homeless animals of the League. 'Dog Days Dog Show' was an the Board", explains Kathleen.

Since that time, Kathleen has been an invaluable resource to the League, but her first love and reason for getting involved has always been her special relationship with animals.

"My animal companions are Teddy and Maddie, both from WARL. They are my best friends, providing unconditional love and loyalty. In short, they make my home and my life a better place."

By making a planned gift to WARL, you can help secure the future for homeless animals in our community and leave a legacy of compassion. If you would like to learn more, please call the Development Office at 202-726-2556, ext. 315. We will be glad to answer questions, review your unique circumstances and offer suggestions confidentially.
