League CEO Dr. Gary Weitzman, DVM, MPH, Achieves Professional Accreditation in Animal Welfare

Dr. Gary Weitzman, DVM, MPH,, CAWA, has achieved the highest level professional designation for animal welfare professionals, Certified Animal Welfare Administrator (CAWA). This designation acknowledges excellence and the accomplishments of non-profit and municipal executives across the US, Canada and Australia.
The professional certification program, administered by the Society of Animal Welfare Administrators (SAWA), distinguishes top-level executives and managers working in nonprofit and municipal agencies for their knowledge, experience and expertise. There are currently only 79 professionals who have achieved this new designation.
CAWA candidates must meet strict eligibility requirements in leadership, management, and animal welfare experience and successfully pass a rigorous exam, developed to meet the highest competency standards.
The exam tests knowledge and skills in administration and management, personnel supervision and leadership, public relations and fundraising, animal care and treatment, and reasoning.
