Donate Monthly

Do you know that monthly donations to the League can be automatically contributed from your credit card or bank account?  By signing up to be a charter member of the Washington Animal Rescue League’s Major Leaguers, your donations provide a steady, dependable source of revenue for our community animal care programs.

Your monthly automated donations will allow us to reduce our marketing and mailing costs, as well as to be more environmentally friendly.  We will only send you one annual acknowledgment letter each January noting all of your automated donations from the previous year.

The charter membership enrollment period for the Major Leaguers lasts through the end of 2010, so if you know friends or family who also support us, please let them know about this new option that is a win-win-win for all concerned: you, the donor; us, the charity; and, of course, the animals who benefit from our cost-efficiency.

For more information, please contact the Development Office at 202-375-7756 or development@warl.org to sign up today! Or, simply fill out this form and return it to us.

Corporate Matching Gifts

You can double, triple or even quadruple the amount of your gift to the League if you work for a company with a matching gift program.

Please check this list of companies that make matching gifts to see if your employer is among them.

Honorary and Memorial Donations

Donations in honor of someone special:
Birthdays, anniversaries, Christmas and Hanukah are perfect occasions to honor someone special with a gift to the League. A personalized card will be sent to notify your friend or loved one of your generous gift.

On your birthday this year, give a gift to animals in need! In lieu of presents, ask your friends and family to donate to the League in your honor. Read "Brittany's Gift" to see what a difference one person can make!

Donations in memory of a loved one:
Contributions can be made to the League in remembrance of a loved one (human or animal). The family of the deceased will receive notification of your generous gift.

To make an honor or memorial donation, please complete the online donation form using a credit card or call the Development Office at 202-726-2556 ext. 316.

Contributions of $500 or more are recognized by an a brass plaque on our Honorary/Memorial Wall in the League's headquarters. Please indicate your inscription up to three lines, 25 characters per line, including spaces. Be sure to complete the daytime phone number field so we may call you when your plaque is ready. A League plaque is a wonderful, elegant tribute to a loved one, living or deceased, and would be an excellent gift for a birthday, Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, or Father's Day. (Please note: the donation amount for a plaque increases to $1,000 effective June 30, 2010.)

Sponsor an Animal

On average, the League spends $800 on the direct care of each animal we rescue. Some cost us considerably more, and adoption fees never cover the entire cost of an animal’s care and rehabilitation. Because we do not receive any government funding, we rely on generous donors like you to save the animals who are counting on us.
