Kitten/Cat Adoption Event at Living Ruff

If you are interested in potentially adopting a kitten or cat, stop by Living Ruff on Georgia Avenue between noon and 2 p.m. to meet several friendly kittens and cats and League volunteers. Come by, you may meet your future favorite feline friend!

Free Pit Bull Spaying, Neutering and Health Screening the second Monday of EVERY month
December 01, 2009 to December 01, 2010
Time: 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
The League's Medical Center
At the League's free one-day medical clinic for all pit bull and pit bull mixes, dogs will be spayed or neutered and given rabies, DHPP and bordetella shots. There are no charges for any of these services, no income or residence restrictions, and no appointments necessary. The clinic will be on a first come, first serve basis. Dogs must have an empty stomach for surgery so they should not be fed after 10:00 p.m. on the night before surgery. All dogs should be dropped off at the League's Medical Center between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. and picked up between 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. No rescue groups, please. For questions call the League at 202-726-2273. The pit bull spay/neuter and vaccination clinic will now be held the second Monday of EVERY month!

Free Neutering Clinic for Male Cats the fourth Monday of EVERY month

The League's Medical Center
Neutered male cats are less likely to bite, spray in the house, and run off. Nor will they produce kittens for whom there are no homes. Now people with incomes of $30,000 or less can have their male cats neutered absolutely free of charge at this special clinic held the fourth Monday of EVERY month. There are no residence requirements and you do not need an appointment. Simply withhold your cat's food after 10:00 p.m. (cats need an empty stomach for surgery)and bring them to the Medical Center between 8:00 and 9:00 a.m. the day of surgery. Pick-up is between 3:00 and 4:00 p.m. that same day. No feral cats or rescue groups at this clinic, please. For more information, call 202-726-2256 or write warl@warl.org.

Preparatory Class for New Dog Guardians

Time: 6:15 - 7:345p.m.
The League, 71 Oglethorpe Street, NW, Washington, DC
This free session is led by the League’s certified trainer and covers house, chew, and home alone training, socialization, training, and enrichment for your new adoptee. This class is just for people, no dogs please. The class runs from 6:15 to 7:45 p.m. Space is limited, please RSVP to [ training@warl.org ].
