Phoenix Breed: Labrador Retriever Mix Canine-ality^tm: Goofball Age: Adult Size: Large Phoenix is an 8-year-old Lab mix, who like the mythical Phoenix, is looking for a new life! Phoenix and his brother were surrendered to the League when their owner moved somewhere that did not allow pets. He is a very sweet boy who loves to romp and play. Phoenix has always lived with another dog, so we'd like to send him home with a calm canine companion. He is currently in foster care and his foster mom has been keeping a blog about him! Quinn Breed: Muted Tortoiseshell DSH Feline-ality^tm: Sidekick Age: Adult Size: Medium Quinn has very unique markings- the splashes of buff and gray on her face make her look like a possum- a cute one! Quinn is a muted tortoiseshell short-haired cat. She was transferred to the League from another shelter in DC so she could have a better chance at finding a home. She is a sweet and quiet kitty with a hidden spunky side that comes out when she gets to know you!
Amadeus Breed: Domestic Shorthair Black Feline-ality^tm: Private Investigator Age: Adult Size: Medium Amadeus is one of those amazing cats who falls victims to being part of the statistic about black, male animals being the last to be adopted. His personality is so great that if he were any other color, he would've been adopted long ago! Amadeus gets along with cats of all shapes and sizes, but he loves his sister Dita the most, so it would be excellent if they could be adopted as a pair. He loves to play with toys, be cuddled and to groom Dita! He's about 3-years-old and will bring so much joy to your household!
Heidi Breed: Hound Mix Canine-ality^tm: Couch Potato Age: Adult Size: Medium Heidi is a beautiful hound-y mix girl who has the most beautiful eyes. She is a smaller hound, weighing only 45 lbs, and is about 7 years old. She is very interested in people and will stand in her den and slowly wag her tail until you give in and open the top half of the den door. She will then put her paws calmly up on the door and look at you pleadingly, almost like the children's book, "Are you my mother?" She came to us from Mississippi, where she was living in a terrible hoarding situation. She picked up a skin issue there, like many of our other dogs, but her hair is growing back nicely and she will be a beauty soon! She is sweet and gentle and a little bit shy, but we are sure that she will absolutely adore whoever her lucky adopter is!
Sade Breed: Pit Bull Terrier Canine-ality^tm: Goofball Age: Young Size: Medium Sade is a beautiful brindle Pit Bull girl! She is about 8-months-old and true to her puppy-ality, she is a goofball! She is very social and loves to spend time with people- licking their hands and wagging her tail at them! She has a lot of energy and is looking forward to puppy play dates and training classes to help her work out some of her puppy-ness. Then, like most puppies, she will take a loooong nap!
